CandleLight Christmas
 
I've been saving up my Candlelight Christmas papers as they are so lovely - in particular this flocked acetate - and almost too good to use. However they are no good in the box so here is the card I've made for my Mum and Dad which also uses early expresso tuille,an antique brad, greetings of the season stamp set and apothecary accents framelits.
 
One of the huge advantages of Stampin Up products is the colour co-ordination and this card showcases that perfectly with just 3 colours - real red, very vanilla and early expresso.
 
I've been pretty busy this week making lots of things. Last Friday I went to my first ever WI meeting. It was great and we made bath bombs so I came home and made lots more plus pretty boxes to put them in. I do have a tendancy to get obsessed by making different things and buying all the supplies necessry for a new craft so I am trying very hard to restrain myself from getting every essential oil going. That's one lesson I learnt after the fire - don't buy stuff you are not going to use imminently ! Lets see if I can be firm with myself.

EMBOSSED BABY BEAR This is clearly my favourite stamp set at the moment and I have been trying out lots of different colour combinations and techniques. Here are the finished cards and underneath I have done a step by step photo guide - which is a first for me. The bear is stamped in smoky slate and dapper denim, sponged in marina mist.  Bear is stamped in soft suede and early espresso and sponged with peekaboo peach. Here are my supplies all laid out First I stamped image no 2 of the stamp set on whisper white in pink pirouette. Remember to use your piercing mat or other foam pad underneath any photopolymer stamp sets so you get a good image. Then I stamped image no 3 of the set with melon mambo. It does take a bit of practice to line the stamps up so practice a few times first on scrap paper. I find it best to make sure the bear's bottom and the gap between arms and body are lined up. Then finally use image no 1 and versamark to stamp

Angry Brids card in a box

I'm rather addicted to making these card in a box cards and decided to combine this with one of my other favourites - punch art. I've thrown a new matching stamp and framelit set called Just Sayin and word bubbles into the mix .These are some of the latest fab products from the Spring and Summer Catalogue. Flower Pot Cards

This week we are making flower pot cards using the soon to retire daisy delight stamp set and matching punch To make the card you need  A4 cardstock a 4in x 6 in piece of co ordinating designer series paper Cut your cardstock to 11inch x 3 inch and score at 4 1/2 inches and 9 inches on the long side. Make a pretty border on the 2 inch section using either a punch or edging die. Mark 1/2 in in from the bottom of the cardstock on both sides and cut to the top of the card to make the flower pot shape Glue patterned paper to the front of your card and then trim. Stamp a greeting if required on the edge.  Then use tear and tape or glue to secure the plant pot edge down. Use tear and tape to join the card at the top Make the insert - a 5.5 inch x 3inch piece with a neutral layer measuring 5 1.4 inch x 2 3.4 inch on top, This will be decorated at the top
