Memo Block Holder

Here are the instructions for attendees to use during the class, using the kit provided.

For the main part of the box you need some fairly sturdy 12 x 12 inch cardstock and I have made use of the backing card sheet that comes in Stampin Up packs of Designer Series paper - it's always good to use everything you can.  Make sure that the writing is on the inside when you assemble the box of course and it will all be hidden. 

You will need 

12 x 12 strong card 

DSP and co-ordinating cardstock to match - here I used magnolia lane and the (now retired hot air balloon punch and the magnolia dies for the flowers. 

These measurements are for a 9cm square memo block. 

1) Trim your sturdy cardstock to 11 3/4 in ch x 11 3/4 inch. 

2) Score at 2inch, 4 inch , 7 3/4inch and 9 3/4 inch

on both the horizontal and vertical. The picture below show the score lines as dotted lines.

3) Cut out the areas not needed and the tabs for forming the box. - see the picture below which shows this 

I know some of my ladies may struggle to see what to cut out - the picture below shows the shape of the area you cut from each corner. 

5) Make a hole using a circle punch(or die) so you will be able to get the pieces of paper out! 

  

6) Cut the tabs and add glue where written  to assemble box. DO one side at a time and remember ( I forgot!) to cut a notch into the tab so that it forms a nice neat  corner. 

7) 

Once assemble decorate using the following layers of card/DSP. Add 1 layer at a time over the circle cutout so that you can then re use the punch to get a perfect match. 

For all 4 sides cardstock 1 3/4 inch x 3 1/2 inch 

Designer Series Paper 1 1/2 inch x 3 1/4 inch. 

For the top - 2 pieces of white cardstock 4 inch x 4 inch - use 1 underneath the flap and one on top ( will add a photo when I make the next one. 

1 piece of coloured cardstock 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 and I piece of patterned at 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 

For the bottom - you could use a piece of chipboard to make a particularly strong base otherwise 2 pieces of 4 inch x 4 inch white stuck together and topped with a piece of 4 in x 4 in coloured cardstock.
